Attracting Foreign Investors in the Dental Sector

In recent years, the medical and healthcare services industry has increasingly gained attention from foreign investors. The proportion of investment from foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in the healthcare sector, particularly in dental services, has been steadily growing. Several large investment projects have been implemented in this field, including the construction of hospitals, general clinics, and healthcare centers by major healthcare corporations from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and the United States.

The dental industry in Vietnam is attracting the interest of foreign investors (FDI) due to several favorable factors, specifically:

  1. Growing demand: With increasing awareness of the importance of oral care, the demand for dental services is rising rapidly. More Vietnamese people are paying attention to dental care, creating significant opportunities for investors.
  2. Large and young population: Vietnam has a large and young population, which drives the demand for healthcare services, including dental care, both now and in the future. As of January 2024, Vietnam’s population reached 99.19 million people. Data shows that the population of Vietnam increased by 655 thousand people (+0.7%) between early 2023 and early 2024.
  3. Government support policies: The Vietnamese government has implemented various incentives and supportive policies to encourage investment in the healthcare sector, including dental care. These incentives focus on aspects such as taxes (corporate income tax, import tax, VAT), land (allocation of land with payment of land use fees or long-term land leasing, exemption or reduction of land or water surface rental prices), and other supportive policies. This creates favorable conditions for foreign investors.
  4. Rapidly developing market: The dental sector in Vietnam is growing rapidly with the emergence of many modern dental clinics and hospitals that meet international standards.
  5. High-quality human resources: Vietnam is training and developing high-quality human resources in the dental field, providing a skilled workforce for investors.
  6. Low costs: The cost of dental services in Vietnam is lower compared to many developed countries, attracting a large number of international customers to Vietnam for dental services.

Thanks to these factors, the dental industry in Vietnam is becoming an attractive sector for FDI investors, contributing to the development of the healthcare sector and improving the quality of oral healthcare services.
