Continuing the program of gratitude to the Heroic Martyrs on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2024), on the morning of July 21, a delegation of the General Department of Taxation visited the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap and offered incense at the Dong Loc Junction Historical Site to pay tribute to the young volunteer martyrs who fell for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
At Vung Chua – Yen Island in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, in a solemn atmosphere, Comrade Mai Xuan Thanh, Party Secretary and General Director of the General Department of Taxation, along with the delegation, respectfully laid a wreath and offered incense in memory of General Vo Nguyen Giap and observed a moment of silence, expressing their deep respect for the spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap – a great leader of our Party, State and people, an outstanding and close student of President Ho Chi Minh, and the eldest brother of the Vietnam People’s Army.
Offering incense at the memorial house of over 4,000 young volunteer martyrs from all over the country at the Dong Loc Junction Special Historical Site, in a sacred and moving atmosphere, General Director Mai Xuan Thanh and the delegation expressed their deep respect, offered incense and flowers, and respectfully bowed their heads in boundless gratitude for the immense contributions of the young volunteer martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation, reunification, and for the happiness of the people.
Next, General Director Mai Xuan Thanh and the members of the delegation offered incense and laid a wreath at the Tomb of 10 female young volunteer martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives at Dong Loc Junction. Before the spirits of the 10 female young volunteer martyrs, General Director Mai Xuan Thanh and the delegation respectfully bowed their heads and expressed their boundless gratitude to the 10 female young volunteer martyrs who, despite the rain, bombs, bullets, and storms, bravely dedicated their youth to the independence and freedom of the nation, to the happiness of the people.
Deeply grateful for the immense sacrifices and contributions of the Heroic Martyrs, sincerely wishing the souls of the martyrs to rest in peace, the leaders of the Tax Industry and the members of the delegation, who are leaders of units under the General Department of Taxation and leaders of units in the Tax industry, vowed to join hands and hearts, continue to uphold the glorious tradition of the Nation, unite in one heart, build the country, and make it increasingly prosperous and civilized.
With deep gratitude, General Director Mai Xuan Thanh and the leaders of the General Department and the leaders of the Tax industry units came to offer incense at the Dong Loc Junction Temple to commemorate and honor the young volunteer martyrs and the people who died during the war.
At the Bell Tower at Dong Loc Junction – the sacred land symbolizing victory, the symbol of revolutionary heroism, the symbol of humanity in the Ho Chi Minh era, General Director Mai Xuan Thanh and the leaders of the General Department and the leaders of the Tax industry units together tolled the memorial bell with boundless respect. The sound of the Dong Loc bell echoed as a tribute to the heroic martyrs who fell for national independence, a desire for peace, and a prayer for national security and prosperity.
