Guidelines for individuals to report misreported income to the tax authority on the eTax Mobile app

According to the General Department of Taxation, the Tax Authority has recently received numerous reports about cases where companies have fraudulently used individuals’ information such as name, tax ID, and national ID to declare wages and salaries as expenses for calculating corporate income tax obligations, despite no actual income being paid to these individuals. This practice is intended to evade taxes and reduce the company’s tax liability. Such actions not only deplete the state budget but also significantly impact the direct rights of individual taxpayers.

To address this issue, in addition to existing features such as tax settlement information lookup, checking annual income sources, online tax payment, and tax obligation inquiries, eTax Mobile has added a new feature. This new feature allows individuals to send notifications directly to the Tax Authority upon discovering that their income has been misreported. This is a helpful tool that enables individuals to protect their rights and positively contribute to efforts to prevent tax revenue loss.
