Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department Presents Charity House to Mother of Martyr

In commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2024), the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department’s Trade Union has decided to support the construction and present a charity house to Mrs. Ho Thi Do, the mother of martyr Ho Thi Chan, in Sa Tram hamlet, Ba Nang commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province.

According to Deputy Director of the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department, Nguyen Quang Uy, the contributions and sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, and individuals who have contributed to the revolution are immense. Over the years, the Party, the State, and our people have considered caring for and assisting those who have contributed to the revolution as a matter of conscience and sentiment, as well as a responsibility of our generation and future generations.

To express deep gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of heroes and martyrs, and those who have contributed to the nation, in recent years, the Party and State have issued preferential policies for war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and individuals who have contributed to the revolution.

Promoting the fine tradition of “Drinking water, remembering the source” and recognizing the responsibility of “repaying gratitude”, in recent years, the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department’s Trade Union has carried out a series of gratitude activities for war invalids, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, and individuals who have contributed to the revolution in Quang Tri province – a place that has suffered the brutality of war and the devastation of natural disasters.

Accordingly, from 2000 to the present, officials and employees of the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department have contributed to building over 30 charity houses, worth more than 2 billion dong, to donate to policy beneficiaries, families of war invalids and martyrs, and families who have contributed to the revolution who are facing particularly difficult housing conditions, thereby contributing to helping disadvantaged policy families in the province stabilize their lives.

Deputy Director Nguyen Quang Uy said that, as part of a series of gratitude activities, including building and repairing charity houses and gifting savings books to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, in response to the plan of the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs on building charity houses for relatives of those who have contributed to the revolution, the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department’s Trade Union has decided to support the construction of a charity house for Mrs. Ho Thi Do, the mother of martyr Ho Thi Chan, in Sa Tram hamlet, Ba Nang commune, Dakrong district, Quang Tri province.

“Dakrong district is a locality with a glorious revolutionary tradition. In the struggle for national liberation, building and defending socialist Vietnam, many children of the homeland have fallen, including martyr Ho Thi Chan. Mrs. Ho Thi Do, the mother of martyr Ho Thi Chan, is elderly and lives in poverty. She lives alone in a house made of bamboo and timber, which is now dilapidated. To express gratitude to the martyr’s family, officials and employees of the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department have contributed one day’s salary to support the construction of a charity house for Mrs. Ho Thi Do with a value of 70 million dong,” said Deputy Director Nguyen Quang Uy.

On behalf of the Party Committee, the leadership of the Tax Department, and the Trade Union of the Tax Department, I would like to thank all officials and employees of the Quang Tri Provincial Tax Department for their contributions to the construction of the charity house for Mrs. Ho Thi Do, the mother of martyr Ho Thi Chan, contributing to the Party Committee, government, and local people in effectively implementing the policy for war invalids, martyrs, and those who have contributed.

“The Tax Department would like to express its gratitude for the interest of the leaders of Dakrong District People’s Committee, Ba Nang Commune People’s Committee, and Sa Tram Border Post in supporting and facilitating the construction of the charity house. Thank you to the contractor for promptly constructing the project on time and ensuring quality. We would like to congratulate the martyr’s mother’s family on having a new, spacious house that meets the family’s living needs. In the coming time, we hope that the family will strive to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives,” Deputy Director Nguyen Quang Uy emotionally expressed.
