In recent days, the Tax Sub-Department of Region II (formerly the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department) has been mobilizing all resources to implement various forms of support and guidance for taxpayers in the area regarding the 2024 tax finalization. The goal is to help citizens and businesses complete the procedures for Corporate Income Tax (CIT) and Personal Income Tax (PIT) finalization for 2024 conveniently and on time. Specifically, the deadline for CIT finalization is March 31st, and for PIT finalization, it is May 5th.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Head of the Tax Sub-Department of Region II, informed that in 2025, the Tax Sub-Department of Region II has widely announced through mass media that the Tax Department will organize an online support program. This program will guide and resolve issues related to CIT and PIT finalization via the Tax Department’s Electronic Information Portal for 3 days (March 24th, 25th, and 27th).
At the support program, the tax authorities specifically addressed inquiries related to CIT, PIT, Value Added Tax (VAT), and many other contents. This aims to create the most favorable conditions for both businesses and individuals to fulfill their tax obligations in accordance with the law.
In particular, the organizing committee has updated and introduced important new policy contents stipulated in Decree No. 70/2025/ND-CP on invoices and documents. This decree takes effect from June 1st, 2025, and amends and supplements Decree No. 123/2020/ND-CP. The objective of this is to modernize tax administration, promote the implementation of electronic invoices (e-invoices), use personal identification numbers as identification codes for business households and individual businesses, carry out tax declaration and finalization through the eTaxMobile application, as well as regulations related to VAT and e-commerce.
As a result, taxpayers can easily grasp and correctly apply the new regulations, minimizing errors during production and business operations. At the same time, this also contributes to the transparency of transactions in the context of the rapidly developing digital economy.
In the near future, the tax authorities will continue to drastically implement and expand the scope of application of electronic invoices (e-invoices) and e-invoices from cash registers. This aims to create a transparent and open business environment, support effective tax administration, and ensure revenue for the State budget.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung further emphasized that, specifically in the HCMC area, the Tax Sub-Department of Region II has proactively directed functional departments and subordinate units to establish various direct and telephone support channels. These channels are directly connected to specialized departments to provide quick and effective assistance to taxpayers.
At the same time, the Tax Sub-Department of Region II also closely coordinates with support channels from the administrative office, the one-stop-shop department, and the support divisions of the 5 business management and support departments, the household business, individual and other income management department, the land revenue management department, the inspection department, etc. All these units have publicly announced their phone numbers and contact channels to provide maximum support to taxpayers during the tax finalization process.
For the directly managed tax teams, the Tax Sub-Department of Region II has unified the implementation and completion of the set targets under the direction of the sub-department’s leadership, assigning specific tasks to each team to support taxpayers locally.
During the support process, the tax authorities categorize taxpayers to provide the most appropriate assistance. For example, taxpayers with income from multiple sources will be directed to the Department of Household Business and Individual Management for specific guidance and support; meanwhile, the PIT finalization of businesses will be handled by the Department of Enterprise Management.
However, to make the tax finalization process smoother, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung advises taxpayers to proactively find, follow, and carefully grasp the guidance content for the 2024 tax finalization that has been posted on the Tax Department’s Electronic Information Portal. This will help taxpayers follow the correct procedures step by step, saving time and effort.
For those who encounter difficulties in carrying out tax finalization electronically, taxpayers can go directly to the nearest local tax offices for direct assistance. Alternatively, they can contact the hotline number 028.37702288 of the Tax Sub-Department of Region II for specific guidance. The Tax Sub-Department of Region II commits to focusing all resources, accompanying, supporting, and creating the best conditions for citizens and businesses to carry out the 2024 tax finalization conveniently, quickly, on time, and cost-effectively, helping taxpayers focus on production and business activities and achieve the highest efficiency.
In addition, the tax authorities also warn taxpayers to be vigilant about unfamiliar phone numbers (not belonging to the tax authorities) and fake tax finalization support channels to avoid being scammed and exploited by fraudulent individuals.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Chief Accountant of H.M Company Limited (Thu Duc City), a taxpayer carrying out the 2024 CIT finalization at the headquarters of the Tax Sub-Department of Region II, shared that the tax authorities have been actively promoting electronic tax filing, making it easier for businesses to handle tax procedures. During this CIT finalization period, besides following the guidance of tax officials on the electronic portal, the tax officials at the Tax Sub-Department headquarters also enthusiastically supported and carefully guided her through the steps, ensuring that her company’s tax finalization procedures were completed quickly and fully.
From the perspective of a citizen carrying out PIT finalization, Mr. Truong Minh Hung (resident of Thu Duc City) said that he had followed the steps through the eTaxMobile system, but possibly due to transmission problems, he could not access and complete the finalization. In addition, the information about his dependents was also incorrect, so he decided to seek direct assistance from tax officials. After a short time with the enthusiastic support of the tax officials, his PIT finalization hồ sơ and dependent information were completed and adjusted.
At the same time, Mr. Hung also suggested that the Tax Department should regularly upgrade the system and review data, especially during peak tax finalization periods, to help citizens and businesses carry out CIT and PIT finalization conveniently and ensure compliance with regulations.
