Tax General Department and C06 Strengthen Cooperation to Implement Directive 18, Ensuring Tax Fairness

On the morning of August 19th, Mai Xuan Thanh, Director General of the General Department of Taxation, chaired a meeting with the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order – C06 (Ministry of Public Security) to discuss the implementation of Prime Minister’s Directive 18/CT-TTg. This directive aims to promote data connection and sharing to serve the development of e-commerce, prevent tax evasion, and ensure monetary security.
 

At the meeting, Deputy Director General Mai Son stated that the General Department of Taxation has actively contributed to the development and implementation of Project 06 on the application of population data, identification, and electronic authentication to serve the national digital transformation. Thanks to close cooperation with C06 and relevant agencies, the tax sector has achieved many positive results in implementing Directive 16, including:  

  • Expanding the database: Collecting information from new business entities, especially in the e-commerce sector.
  • Improving tax management: Facilitating the amendment and supplementation of tax policies, ensuring fairness and efficiency.

The main topics discussed at the meeting included:

  • Data cleansing: Improving the quality of the enterprise management database of the tax agency.
  • Managing online businesses: Strengthening the supervision of individuals doing business on e-commerce platforms.
  • Electronic invoices: Promoting the use of electronic invoices from cash registers.

Colonel Vu Van Tan, Deputy Director of C06, proposed a specific cooperation roadmap between the two units to successfully implement Project 06 and Directive 18. Accordingly, C06 and the General Department of Taxation will agree on a plan, coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies, and report the results to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Security.

Concluding the meeting, Director General Mai Xuan Thanh emphasized the importance of cooperation between the General Department of Taxation and C06 in:

  • Risk assessment: Using data to identify businesses that are likely to violate tax laws.
  • Enterprise management: Implementing management measures for tax evaders and tax debtors.
  • Administrative reform: Promoting the implementation of electronic invoices, reducing costs for people and businesses.

Director General Mai Xuan Thanh affirmed that the cooperation between the two agencies will contribute significantly to achieving the goals of the Tax System Reform Strategy for the period 2021-2030.
