Hanoi, August 16, 2023 – The General Department of Taxation has officially launched the “Program to Support Taxpayers in Voluntary Tax Compliance,” aiming to facilitate businesses with tax obligations. This program is expected to enhance businesses’ self-discipline in complying with tax laws and reduce the administrative burden on tax authorities.

Businesses participating in the program will enjoy various special incentives, including:

  • Swift Tax Refunds: Tax refund applications will be prioritized and processed promptly, reducing waiting time.
  • Efficient Administrative Procedures: Difficulties and obstacles encountered during tax administrative procedures will be promptly addressed.
  • Reduced Frequency of Audits and Inspections: Businesses with transparent records and strong compliance will experience fewer inspections.
  • Advisory Support and Risk Warnings: Tax authorities will provide information and advice to help businesses understand regulations and prevent risks.

Criteria for Business Selection 

To participate in the program, businesses must meet criteria related to tax compliance, transparency in business operations, and cooperation with tax authorities.

Promoting Digitalization and Modernization in Tax Management 

The General Department of Taxation will enhance the application of information technology to verify and evaluate businesses’ compliance levels, while also facilitating online tax administration procedures for businesses.

Expanding the Scope of Application 

In addition to import-export businesses, the program will be expanded to include businesses in the investment sector.

General Director Mai Xuan Thanh emphasized: “The implementation of this program not only helps reduce the workload for tax authorities but also contributes to building a transparent and equitable business environment.
